Success Story for:
Lora Corder of Green River, LLC
Founded in 2009, Green River, LLC is an economically disadvantaged women-owned small business (SBA EDWOSB). The company provides energy and environmental consulting, general contracting, roofing, insulation, and crawlspace encapsulation.
Green River LLC has been in business since 2009, and in order to grow the business and capabilities, additional services had to be added. The company needed to obtain financing to purchase a spray foam rig. Funding was also to be used to add more employees, and grow sales. Furthermore, there were opportunities in the governmental market place.
TSBDC assisted with general government contracting advice, connected client with small business managers at prime contractors and government agencies, and provided guidance for successful SBA EDWOSB certification.
In addition, TSBDC helped the client through the successful loan application process. As a result, the company retained two part-time and two full-time workers, and added two full-time employees to the staff.
After obtaining the funding at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2015, a spray foam rig was purchased. The addition of this service offering resulted in $30,000 of additional sales in the 4th quarter of 2015. Overall economic impact was $116,040.00.
The success of our business is directly related to the assistance we have received from the Tennessee Small Business Development Center at Roane State Community College. TSBDC has been a tremendous resource for us from the very beginning. We received business counseling on becoming a certified Economically Disadvantaged Woman Owned Small Business. We have attended classes on writing a business plan and developing our Web site. Most recently, we needed to acquire financing to grow our business. Their guidance and expert advice helped us to succeed, and as result we have the necessary equipment, we have added employees and this has in turn increased our revenue. Thank you TSBDC!
