Success Story for:
Ed & Suzanne Buck of Saltbox Inn
Ed & Suzanne Buck are the owners of the Saltbox Inn, a charming, rustic inn located in Cookeville, Tennessee. The Saltbox Inn is the perfect setting for weddings, receptions, special events, casual tourists, or romantic getaways. Featuring 4 guest suites, landscaped gardens, spacious lawns, a large swimming pool and lovely patios, the Saltbox Inn is the ultimate Upper Cumberland hospitality venue. Ed & Suzanne contacted the Tennessee Small Business development Center (TSBDC) at Tennessee Technological University seeking assistance in finding a funding solution for the start-up business. Within a few counseling sessions, their counselor, John Woodard, assisted Ed & Suzanne in assembling the financial projections and other information required to obtain financing for the business startup and connected Ed & Suzanne with a lender. John guided them through the process of obtaining the required financing and continues to work with the Bucks on growing, expanding, and marketing their business. Ed is quoted as saying “It was a pleasure to work with the TSBDC and John and appreciate your lender referral which made our venture a reality. Suzanne and I have loved meeting all our guests at the Saltbox Inn and appreciate our growing connection to the community.” The couple has hosted several events for their local community and many happy couples have chosen the Saltbox Inn as their wedding venue. Their counselor, John Woodard, said “It’s great to work with individuals like Ed & Suzanne Buck who are committed to the community. Not only has the couple started a successful business, they have created many local jobs as well by hiring local cleaning, catering, and construction companies! While the Saltbox Inn is a business, it is also a great gift to the community from Ed & Suzanne who are passionate people who believe in their community and in their business.”
