Mr. Danny Crossett, Co-Owner/Manager, opened for business at 398 Oil Well Road in Jackson, Tennessee on May 1st, 2015 with one full-time and four part time employees. This business provides a unique service to the sports enthusiasts in West Tennessee, especially those who participate in running, both as a hobby and on a competitive basis.

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center, at Jackson State Community College, was contacted by Mr. Crossett in early 2015 to discuss developing a business plan that would allow Mr. Crossett and his co-owner, Harris Magruder, to research and evaluate if there was a need for this type of sporting equipment business.  A part of this research was to identify the target market, as well as vendors to provide the equipment and accessories for this specific group.

Mr. Crossett worked diligently to collect the information needed utilizing TSBDC assistance and licensed data base applications to conduct the necessary due diligence.  Included in the counseling assistance provided was an analysis of the businesses financial condition and financing options needed to grow the business.  The firm’s business expansion became a reality when there was capital infusion of $150,000.00, eight jobs created and one job retained.

Because of the success already demonstrated by the business, its reputation for customer service the firm has expanded to include nine part-time employees and a much larger inventory selection.  The Jackson Sun published a front page story in its business section in the summer of 2015 featuring performance Running of West Tennessee. In addition, the TSBDC at Jackson State Community College nominated this client business as our third quarter ‘Success Story.’

Mr. Crossett and his team are very community oriented and work very closely with the Jackson Chamber and other Civic organizations as well as the sports organizations in the area.  Mr. Crossett and this partner developed a business that is both popular with consumers and well respected.   The firm’s trade area extends beyond West Tennessee to neighboring states, at testament to the fact that this business has developed a loyal following.
